I Constantly Question My Major and That's Okay
Mar 28,2016
Do I really want to be a biology major? Everything seems so much easier; why don't I change to psychology or English? These are questions that run through all of our minds at least once a week or when you're up at 3 am studying for an exam and writing a five page paper at the same time. Being a college student is stressf🐎ul for a million different reasons, but questioning your major shouldn't be one of them.
You wouldn't be a college student if you don't change your major at least once.
We are all teenagers (for the most part).💯 We are all indecisive. I can't even decide day-to-day decisions, so making the decision of what I want to doꦐ for the rest of my life is terrifying. Do I want to sit in an office all day or be up on my feet constantly? Is my future career something I enjoy AND hiring?
Put yourself out there.
Th💦ere is nothing wrong withܫ exploring other options. If you are a biology major, take an English class or an art class. You never know what you might enjoy and that could ultimately change your entire outlook on the future. You could go from being a nursing student to an English teacher.
Take advantage.
Never be scared to take advantage of your resources. Look online about different majors and job opportuniti▨es. Talk to your faculty and staff. Most professors and counselors would be more than thrilled to sit downඣ with you to help you explore your interests and relate that to career pathways.
